Publishing data in a repository

It is best practice to share your research data in a repository, and an increasing number of journals require you to do so. However, not every journal requires data to be deposited in a repository in order to publish a paper - some allow others methods of sharing.

You should check the Instructions for Authors of your chosen journal, where the Research Data policy outlines the specific requirements.

Please note that our journals support community mandates for data sharing where applicable. If you are publishing in the life sciences or earth sciences, then mandatory data deposit to specific repositories may apply. For more information, please contact us.
